West Beach
West Beach begins with a single, exact colour — pale sapphire, held completely fixed while everything else about it moves. The same glass lightens against a window and deepens against a wall, reads differently in morning light than afternoon, sits calm in one piece and shifts in the next. The source glass stays exactly the same. What you see in it doesn't.
From that one colour, the range travels further than anywhere else in the practice — worn against the skin, poured from at a table, standing on its own in a room. A tail caught mid-motion on a shelf. A ring that shifts colour with the turn of a hand. A bowl that still carries the shape of what it once was, fused into what it's become.
West Beach is the inner reef against the outer, lagoon stillness against the surf break's motion — the same stretch of water reading differently within a single hour, resolved into one glass. Kiln-formed in Esperance, Western Australia.
